The #newnormal at work should be serving a higher purpose

The newnormal at work will be neither Office nor WorkFromHome.

At least not to a 100% according to Stephanie Akkaoui Hughes. She predicts we will choose between three alternatives and mix them flexibly: office, home and a "3rd place" - any place which makes you feel comfortable, like a café. She calls this the move from workplace to WorkNet.

And it clear, this will also have significant impact on the way we organize work, we organize our workplaces, we connect and we secure them.

Hence, in the Siemens global Cybersecurity leadership team, we had discussions exactly along these lines.

Work is not a place you go, but a thing you do!

We conluded our discussion on the newnormal of work in the global cybersecurity team of Siemens with the notion, that work is not a place you go, but a thing you do.

For work in "traditional office jobs" there were three fundamental insights:
1) The situation and frame conditions vary greatly by region
2) There are lots of opportunities as well as challenges with WFH and the newnormal (see picture)
3) Both of the above asks for a flexible approach to the new normal, allowing to cater for different frameconditions and needs, while managing opportunities and challenges
